My phone is running very slow and I wanted to clean it off. As I was doing thia I found these little things in my notes app and I wanted to remember them. I need to be better about documenting my day to day life because I forget things and I want to remember them!Andreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07629126171023890783noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855834195566093002.post-55020844891965303712016-02-02T21:29:00.001-08:002016-02-02T21:35:09.484-08:00Time flies when you have 3 kids<div><br></div>I don't know if it is the fact that I'm getting older, not sleeping, have 3 children, or a combination of all the above but time seems to fly. Some days and some nights seem like they go on forever, but somehow the weeks and months keep running. Anyway, I thought I should update my blog with what is going on these days. <div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv8M8SOP2U4pMdHSu8n8Ijiqpb4UWRva_ZtUIdcZXJYBuwRHxJMktxrx8VX8dORqFLeBT2Ubt18I-Our0-KSokyv7JWJPbPWHKDMUGabNlVE2ympZBMr4Umg3QzIpKbPBsrMMtYgQ8yf0m/s640/blogger-image--1952948103.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv8M8SOP2U4pMdHSu8n8Ijiqpb4UWRva_ZtUIdcZXJYBuwRHxJMktxrx8VX8dORqFLeBT2Ubt18I-Our0-KSokyv7JWJPbPWHKDMUGabNlVE2ympZBMr4Umg3QzIpKbPBsrMMtYgQ8yf0m/s640/blogger-image--1952948103.jpg"></a></div>Lila is now 10 months old and is just the sweetest little thing ever. She is almost always happy and takes a lot of love from her brothers that is nowhere near as gentle as I would like. She has been climbing up the stairs for months and has still not learned how to go down despite my efforts to teacher her (I think she can't figure out how to turn around and back up so her feet are headed down first). </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvMFpwmq2ZZpbE7hsddfhwLAYjggGZg4S5XQZBCkDov4RibXLMm7rSDYivmWs3_gZDRXFvx4anQoSbQ0ddA7yk9WC7hYRYgE1xCqwcEftzs9RVRlhJqCJuPc4liR_Yt7U2YYJdTkhekRoA/s640/blogger-image-235054881.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvMFpwmq2ZZpbE7hsddfhwLAYjggGZg4S5XQZBCkDov4RibXLMm7rSDYivmWs3_gZDRXFvx4anQoSbQ0ddA7yk9WC7hYRYgE1xCqwcEftzs9RVRlhJqCJuPc4liR_Yt7U2YYJdTkhekRoA/s640/blogger-image-235054881.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>She loves baths, her blankie, and scavenging for food and bits of paper or garbage on the kitchen floor. So far she has eaten most anything we have tried to feed her and starts jabbering impatiently if she is in her high chair too long before food comes. The boys like to distract her while she is eating and she likes to look at them and that can make feeding her pretty messy. </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVjHNkTamyY55tgxgWn7x0JkwjsCn9ITjnT-jZux-K2jbc3seZsQ6UZWq5k-T6ZE1VAocX74kmRlkChf0DhchaNqQO9fuigR2y93QViqaNn8KmMszpw49hVn7K6qrXXSaIApLHUCRowmIK/s640/blogger-image-1731520545.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVjHNkTamyY55tgxgWn7x0JkwjsCn9ITjnT-jZux-K2jbc3seZsQ6UZWq5k-T6ZE1VAocX74kmRlkChf0DhchaNqQO9fuigR2y93QViqaNn8KmMszpw49hVn7K6qrXXSaIApLHUCRowmIK/s640/blogger-image-1731520545.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>She recently started to take the lead on peek-a-boo and it is adorable. I have been on a knitting kick recently). It is a good thing this boy is so adorable and sweet at times because he can be a stinker. He is very determined, often contrary, and he is a climber so this creates plenty of opportunities for frustration and mischief. Kyle likes to help me in the kitchen by adding ingredients to things and of course tasting everything. Kyle loves to be outside and likes walking to the river not far from our house to throw rocks and sticks off the bridge in to the water. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjncVfTcL4SMhhYIr4_2OjYsv8K_9trz0sReQppMAGjwSBdtlFz9wbjq8MI0XveZOGKD_R24BYhyqLl7o3eXCBK0cGFwjGjDms9u91iirGLoGwc5uI6PjFxGmmPhZ05FqJtwZq_E5HuRU1x/s640/blogger-image--696101949.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjncVfTcL4SMhhYIr4_2OjYsv8K_9trz0sReQppMAGjwSBdtlFz9wbjq8MI0XveZOGKD_R24BYhyqLl7o3eXCBK0cGFwjGjDms9u91iirGLoGwc5uI6PjFxGmmPhZ05FqJtwZq_E5HuRU1x/s640/blogger-image--696101949.jpg"></a></div> </div>Both boys have had fun playing in the snow recently making snow men and eating the snow. I started them in swim lesson in January so they would have something active to do to burn all the little boy energy they have plenty of. They seem to be enjoying them. </div><div><br></div><div>Danny, where do I start in describing Danny? Danny loves to create things, he can be stubborn, if given his choice would almost always choose to watch a tv show, and he often follows his little brothers lead in making mischief. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoQrmtweEbzZhyAon2FqKxIjBKNY72lwycBUoAOi3zA0N0SvLS43bumB5PHP0GXew80rVoarj4VzAMHWvVuw7PjwDRM_uJUleiydVxg5MrFsC_o-BUb3fHYXr0NBIuZmfMIDuciOuyzttQ/s640/blogger-image--908879085.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoQrmtweEbzZhyAon2FqKxIjBKNY72lwycBUoAOi3zA0N0SvLS43bumB5PHP0GXew80rVoarj4VzAMHWvVuw7PjwDRM_uJUleiydVxg5MrFsC_o-BUb3fHYXr0NBIuZmfMIDuciOuyzttQ/s640/blogger-image--908879085.jpg"></a></div>Danny is often inspired in his creativity by books we have read or shows he has watched. This is when Danny decided he wanted to be a lemur after watching wild kratt's. He got really into it. He found a tail, he made himself ears out of paper and taped them to his head, we tied his teddy bear on him because the baby lemurs ride around on their mom's back, and I indulged him in his desire to have some lemur scent by giving him some old scented body spray. He ran around as a lemur scent marking things and jumping around for quite a while. </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitnXkTTtZuW35LkQIr9FGCPMOcub2c-upZabrZFIF7bgBB0ZCLw7q66INdG4n0hhFwOJJxb6MQ1HRVZU93EFapw8H95vBefVqv76BDkBcg31Q6eRMMeTBJ1hpYuajUO_nUmc_Pi91KokoA/s640/blogger-image-1225351474.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitnXkTTtZuW35LkQIr9FGCPMOcub2c-upZabrZFIF7bgBB0ZCLw7q66INdG4n0hhFwOJJxb6MQ1HRVZU93EFapw8H95vBefVqv76BDkBcg31Q6eRMMeTBJ1hpYuajUO_nUmc_Pi91KokoA/s640/blogger-image-1225351474.jpg"></a></div>This was the buried treasure he buried in the muddy sandbox one warmer day between snow storms. He will get an idea and just go do it. This can be a little hard for me sometimes because this little stuffed chick-fail-a cow was not the only thing that got covered in muddy sand on the buried treasure day. With things like this I am a little better about not being bothered by the mess. He recently went on a book making kick (he got the idea after we read "If you take a mouse to school"). He stapled pieces of paper together and drew pictures and then he would tell us the story that the pictures depicted. </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0_h_RPRaZFhsxALV0sCGyYCsl8MbcLeScb0BfrymH0u7HhHsv98MDZsQlmjpYzo61MFB9T63rrLbT2oIUX5dziqremCFlE67NcMglFfc7i91WUFZezdfN3JFjz4GS8PQlmCrYpnTqgY8I/s640/blogger-image--2101803249.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0_h_RPRaZFhsxALV0sCGyYCsl8MbcLeScb0BfrymH0u7HhHsv98MDZsQlmjpYzo61MFB9T63rrLbT2oIUX5dziqremCFlE67NcMglFfc7i91WUFZezdfN3JFjz4GS8PQlmCrYpnTqgY8I/s640/blogger-image--2101803249.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>Danny and Kyle can play together nicely, but often Kyle likes to argue and Danny can be very stubborn and this leads to quite a few conflicts between them. No one wins in an argument with a 3 year old. </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivGEa91qu1lN5PJrfzni-8bHEnFaQuGNxtip7IFvAgIiOSEi7pQCC21VzakZcIMhdJkuCPeDVMjm686uJnHgA33jPMIPZZR6ZHURNRYPq38N8Et1r-wRLwBkue7aWFK2lM_vWp-GVLEQb0/s640/blogger-image-392124417.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivGEa91qu1lN5PJrfzni-8bHEnFaQuGNxtip7IFvAgIiOSEi7pQCC21VzakZcIMhdJkuCPeDVMjm686uJnHgA33jPMIPZZR6ZHURNRYPq38N8Et1r-wRLwBkue7aWFK2lM_vWp-GVLEQb0/s640/blogger-image-392124417.jpg"></a></div>Here I am with the crew. Most of my time is spent doing my number 1 job which is keeping everyone alive and trying to teach them to be good humans. I feel like I'm doing pretty good at this and we have fun in the process. Knitting has been one of my creative outlets recently because it is something I can do while keeping an eye on kids (sometimes) or while watching a show with Jon after kids are asleep. I have a tendency to knit with wreckless abandon and I make up my own patterns as I'm going along sometimes. I have to start over and occasionally things don't turn out quite how I imagined, but for some reason it doesn't bother me. </div><div><br></div><div>Jon is halfway through his 3rd year teaching at East and he enjoys it. He is teaching quite a few different classes, working on his ESL endorsement, and is serving in the young men's in our ward. He has quite a few things going on, but he is good to make sure he is around to spend time with me and the kids. I am so glad we get to see him as much as we do. I think we are all happier because if it. </div><div><br></div><div>That is as much of an update as I have time for now. I am going to try to be better about posting small things here and there because my blog is pretty much my journal these days. </div>Andreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07629126171023890783noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855834195566093002.post-71344258360488012722015-10-19T17:58:00.001-07:002015-10-19T17:59:24.278-07:006 months since my last post...Now to think what has happened in the last 6 months. After Lila was born it was a crazy time of Jon finishing up school and everyone getting used to life with our new little girl. The boys took a while to adjust to the new sibling. Kyle definitely has had the hardest adjustment, but he no longer hits Lila every time he is near her. I think for this post I will just dump a bunch of pictures and see where things go from there.<br />

<br />
The hospital called me at around 6:30 Wednesday morning and said that they would be ready for me to come in between 7:30 and 8 to be induced. I had some toast and double checked that I had everything ready to go. I gave my sleeping boys each a kiss and then went and woke up Mikey and had him go get in my bed, so the boys would find him when he woke up. I think I must have woken Kyle up with my kiss because I heard him talking with Mikey and went to say goodbye before I left. I told him that I was going to go to the doctor and have baby bun and that I would see him later. He then told me, "Baby Bun's shoes are hiding in a secret place. When she comes home she will find them." I thought that was pretty funny because I was the one who had hid the baby shoes because the boys kept going in the nursery and opening and rearranging her things.<br />
<br />
We headed to the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray and got all checked in then went in to the labor and delivery room that would be mine. The nurses hooked up all the monitors and poked and prodded and did all their things they had to do to get me ready to have a baby. They checked my cervix and I was only at a 1 so my doctor ordered a medicine that would get my cervix ready before they started any pitocin. I took that medicine and waited for the next 4 hours having some minor contractions and watching Downton Abbey. The nurse said because I wasn't on the pitocin yet I could eat and so she got me a sandwich around lunch time. It was amazing! She was seriously the best nurse ever and my worries about this day being long and miserable like when I had Danny were slowly being alleviated. After that they started me on a low dose of pitocin and said they would increase it from there as needed. My doctor came in and checked me and broke my water; I was at a 3. My contractions had been pretty mild and I didn't want to be stuck in the hospital bed if it was still going to be a long road ahead, so I hadn't got my epidural at this point. After my water was broken things picked up a bit and I got my epidural when my contractions were about 5 minutes apart and getting pretty uncomfortable. I was glad I asked for the epidural when I did because by the time it was kicking in I was not wanting to be as uncomfortable as I was. Even with my epidural I was uncomfortable because I could feel quite a bit of pressure down low because baby had been sitting really low in my pelvis for weeks and pressure though uncomfortable is different than pain and you still want to keep feeling that while in labor.<br />
<br />
The nurse who had been with me all morning was almost done with her shift and I was having contractions every 2 minutes and she checked me again and I was still at about a 3. She decided that we could turn off the pitocin which we had never turned up and see how my body did from there. This was all at probably 3 or so in the afternoon. Because my pitocin was off my contractions had gotten weaker and kind of irregular, but I would still have a strong one occasionally. I have been fighting a cold for about a week and still have a bit of a stuffy nose and cough. Jon and I were talking and he said something that made me laugh and so I started coughing and after that I would break into random little burst of coughing. Around this time with one of my random weaker contractions I felt something change with the pressure down in my crotch, it felt weird like a couple gas bubbles moving and then I felt like I needed to have a bowel movement. I pressed the nurse button and my new nurse came in. She had come in a little earlier to introduce herself, but hadn't gone over things with my previous nurse yet about me and how things were going. When she came in I told her that the pressure had changed a bit and I was now feeling kind of like I needed to go to the bathroom. She left to go see if she could find my old nurse and get the details on me, but came back a few minutes later because she was taking care of another patient. While she was gone I was resisting the urge to push with the occasional contraction because I did not want to do anything that was like pushing while there was no one there. The nurse checked me<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #222222;">and was surprised to find me fully dilated with a baby's head practically coming out. I coughed a little while she was checking and she said "whoa don't do that" she called my doctor down and got all the stuff set up while I resisted all urges to push. When everyone was ready my doctor said next time you feel the need to push do it. I had another contraction and I started coughing and the baby came out. My doctor and the nurses were very amused by how easy I had just made delivering a baby seem. It was very very easy. They wiped her off a little (she was all covered in the white goo because she was early) and handed her to me. When they put her on my chest I almost cried because she was perfect and in my mind I knew her name should be Lila Dawn. I held Lila while the doctor and nurses took care of what they needed to with the placenta and everything, but I didn't have any tearing at all with the delivery. Jon took a few pictures and I told him that I thought her name should be Lila and he responded after a little bit "Yeah, Lila Dawn." I hadn't mentioned what I thought her middle name should be and was very happy that we both came to the same conclusion even though Lila hadn't been very high on our list of names previously (Lila is Jon's maternal grandmother who died before he was born). </span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #222222;"><br /></span></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #222222;">I fed and held sticky baby for about an hour after she was born before the nurse took her over to the little baby station to be weighed and measured and everything. She was born at 15:55 and when they weighed her they said she was 6 lbs 1 oz and was 19.5 inches long (but on her paperwork they have 6 lbs even). I was still bleeding for a while after the delivery and so the nurse kept me down in the labor and delivery room rather than getting me ready to go up to the mother baby unit. During this time my heart rate and blood pressure were really low so they kept checking my vitals and did an EKG which was normal. </span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #222222;"><br /></span></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #222222;">At around 7 I made it to the mother baby unit and I had some dinner and Lila went to get all checked out and have a bath. We have been hanging out in mother baby ever since and are getting used to life outside the </span></span></span><span style="color: #222222; font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">womb. I love our new little family member and I can't wait for the boys to meet her in real life when I go home tomorrow. </span>Andreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07629126171023890783noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855834195566093002.post-76889865957002620322015-03-25T05:00:00.001-07:002015-03-25T05:01:59.223-07:00Thanksgiving<div>I just saw this in my list of posts and it didn't publish before for some reason, so here is thanksgiving:</div><div><br></div>This has been a very busy week. It is currently 4:20 am and I'm laying in my bed with a bag of ice on my feet. I haven't been able to get comfortable enough to fall back asleep since I woke up an hour ago maybe to pee or maybe because I kicked my previous bag of ice on the floor and so my feet started to bother me. <div><br></div><div>I am currently 37 weeks pregnant and waking up to pee and having a hard time getting comfortable at night are really not uncommon at this point, but throw uncontrollable itching in there and an already uncomfortable time gets even more fun. About 4 days ago early Sunday morning I woke up for one of my usual night time trips to the toilet and was having a hard time falling back asleep. In my exhausted delirium I realized that my feet were really itchy and I was trying to rub them on the bed or do whatever to relieve them. I got up and found some anti-itch lotion and went back to bed, and after another hour of continued painful itching I thought "maybe this is a pregnancy thing?" Turning to the trusty google I found that there were some things that can result in itching during pregnancy and I decided to call the on call provider from my doctors office to see what they recommended. The groggy doctor said to try Benadryl and that there were some labs we could do tomorrow or Monday to see if it was related to my liver. The Benadryl didn't really relieve the itching but I think it eventually made me drowsy enough I was able to fall asleep. </div><div><br></div><div>Sunday morning Jon kept an eye on the boys while I tried to sleep a little more and since the boys and I have had a nasty cough and runny noses I figured we would have them stay home from church. I went and taught sharing time in primary then came back home after church. At this point I was feeling fine: no painful itching in my feet, no weird tingling sensation in my hands like after giving someone a really hard high-five, just tired. I took a nap and during my nap the itching feet thing came back. I called to doctor again because I wasn't sure if I was supposed to do lab work that day or what. There was a different doctor on call at this time and she said the doctor the night before must have been slightly out of it because they couldn't order labs on Sunday and to call back Monday morning and talk to my doctors nurse and have them order the labs for me. I had texted my mom earlier in the day and told her I had this itching that kept me up the night before. She said my cousin had something like that with her recent pregnancy and it was related to her liver and sounded pretty miserable. I texted my cousin and got her insights and recommendations of what helped and what didn't. </div><div><br></div><div>That night I went to bed with a bag of ice on my feet at it helped so much! I still woke up to relieve my bladder and refill my ice, but I was able to go back to sleep. Tender mercy! </div><div><br></div><div>I called my doctor again Monday morning and talked to the nurse and she ordered the labs for me. She said since I was coming in on Tuesday I could just wait until then to have them done, but I didn't want to wait and figured if I had my blood drawn Monday I could talk to my doctor at my appointment about the results. After dropping Danny off at preschool I stopped by the hospital and had my blood drawn. Again during the day I didn't really have any irritation or discomfort. That night before bed I started itching again, so I got my ice and went to bed. This night wasn't quite as blissful as the previous after refreshing my ice in the middle of the night I couldn't go back to sleep for a bit and I started having some random itching on my legs and arms but not nearly as painful or irritating as on my feet. Eventually I fell asleep and was able to sleep until 8 when Danny woke up. Both boys didn't wake up until after 8, another small miracle!</div><div><br></div><div>The boys and I did some normal morning things: had breakfast, tried to clean the kitchen, played, fought, cried, colored a little, read a book with Mikey, etc. After getting lunch for everyone I went to my appointment and Mikey stayed home with the boys (as a side note it has been so nice having Mikey, my brother, living with us especially when I have had doctor appointments or wanted to pick Danny up from preschool without waking Kyle up from his nap). I waited quite a while for my appointment, but as soon as my doctor came in she asked if the nurse had already called me. She hadn't, so my doctor told me she was glad I had the labs done because I did have cholestasis of pregnancy and my levels for that were 57 (you have cholestasis if you are above a 9). We talked a little bit about my symptoms and she said typically you have itching all over and it's not just in your feet. Again so grateful that it wasn't all over and that it wasn't constant. Because I was already 37 weeks along and my levels were so high my doctor thought it would be best to induce me this week. She called the people who schedule those and they were able to get me on the list for the next day. </div><div><br></div><div>I came home from my appointment slightly in shock, but feeling surprisingly calm about the whole thing. I went into plan and prepare mode and packed some things for the hospital and talked to family members about who was going to watch the boys and when. Jon came home from work and helped me clean up the house a bit, we had dinner, and the boys watched wall-e and were wild until bed time. </div><div><br></div><div>After the boys were in bed I did some more last minute preparation and nesting-type things then Jon and Michael gave me a blessing. I started itching again with new random itches on various parts of my body and decided to go to bed. I slept for a few hours then got up and slept a little more and couldn't sleep, so I started spewing my thoughts of the last few days and here we are. </div><div><br></div><div>Hopefully everything goes smoothly in a few hours and we can meet our new healthy baby girl. It has been a crazy few days, but I have been kind of paranoid this whole pregnancy and I think that has helped get the anxiety out of my system because I am very calm now. </div><div><br></div>Andreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07629126171023890783noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855834195566093002.post-16706581355247148652014-12-13T07:19:00.001-08:002014-12-13T07:19:35.894-08:00Danny's knock knock jokeKnock knock<div>Who's there?</div><div>Bucket</div><div>Bucket who?</div><div>Bucket in a bathtub</div><div><br></div><div>The joke is always followed by riotous laughter and Danny usually adds "buckets don't go in bathtubs!" So he went to the family store and got a new carrot family... And then... He ate some carrots from the store."</div><div><br></div><div>This kid cracks me up sometimes. </div>Andreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07629126171023890783noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855834195566093002.post-86138602587061964102014-09-25T09:53:00.001-07:002014-09-25T16:11:21.141-07:00Little updateWe tried the pickles just barely and the boys love them! They are pretty strong, but that didn't stop us from nearly eating the whole jar. <div><br></div><div>In other updating- Danny is going to preschool and he loves it! The first day he didn't want to leave he had such a fun time. Kyle gets sad every time we leave Danny at preschool and repeats "Danny?" for a good part of the drive home. It's pretty cute that Kyle misses Danny even though he usually naps the whole time he is gone. Kyle likes to show me what he is doing and whenever he stacks something or lines toys up into a "train" he announces his accomplishment with a "look mommy!" Kyle likes to look at books even though he sometimes thinks we should be turning the pages much faster. Danny likes books too but given the choice would much rather watch Curious George than read. </div><div><br></div><div>Our garden has been bursting with tomatoes and I have been lacking in motivation to preserve them, so my mom came up yesterday and helped me make tomato sauce. I was very grateful that she came. If it wasn't for her and visiting with Ashley I probably would have been much more frazzled when bedtime finally rolled around because Jon had parent teacher conference and wasn't home until after 9. Also because of the tomato sauce extravaganza I made pizza dough and we are going to use the left over sauce on that tonight for dinner. Win win!</div><div><br></div><div>That's all for now. </div><div><br></div><div>Here is the pizza I made with yellow tomato sauce <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJJFXWW6YRV0y5nyGNBZe0pvgEzCXxdjxYeIvWerVWILRBQH9gQ6VWT0ETEcAonZ3GMLFIM-uRleXJPalUBbxlUTqpMz5B1-09sOqiiGgwSHjUHD9wGbC5GN2bDKm6tvhAfhy2SdAj5El2/s640/blogger-image--931779548.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJJFXWW6YRV0y5nyGNBZe0pvgEzCXxdjxYeIvWerVWILRBQH9gQ6VWT0ETEcAonZ3GMLFIM-uRleXJPalUBbxlUTqpMz5B1-09sOqiiGgwSHjUHD9wGbC5GN2bDKm6tvhAfhy2SdAj5El2/s640/blogger-image--931779548.jpg"></a></div></div>Andreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07629126171023890783noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855834195566093002.post-47206526456735218092014-08-17T11:50:00.001-07:002014-10-21T18:11:45.638-07:00First trimester survival<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Fun games to play with your kids-</span></div><div>1. Not the type of distraction I was talking about. That being said a catastrophe can be very distracting)</div><div>2. Don't clean. Hanging out with wild little boys and keeping everyone alive. We did go on a fun trip to Idaho for a family reunion and that was great. Let me think if there are any new things my kids are doing. Kyle has started saying "hold me" rather than "uh uh uh" (up up up) when he wants to be held. He likes to be held a lot sometimes I think it is for safety. Danny isn't too rough with him but will occasionally plow him over in true big brother fashion. Danny's favorite thing is swinging in "baby swings." </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg2KLKS6mYFAxH-mASIqsT7Ylzrpy_OdI65hSLyM2KO-Kew9_efMSGKfxVwIof3WgOQWLNpuPTOLkXdAFikgjx9qj_oJbKnonByrvgLjbp_-E9XPi-unJ6Z6vUlp-GK7a0MskhorKgjKjH/s640/blogger-image-849170861.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg2KLKS6mYFAxH-mASIqsT7Ylzrpy_OdI65hSLyM2KO-Kew9_efMSGKfxVwIof3WgOQWLNpuPTOLkXdAFikgjx9qj_oJbKnonByrvgLjbp_-E9XPi-unJ6Z6vUlp-GK7a0MskhorKgjKjH/s640/blogger-image-849170861.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">We borrowed one from grandma and grandpa Ware for our play set to accommodate his passion. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Life is good. He was the advisor for 3 students from East who made it to nationals. He had lots of fun hanging out with my brother Mike who is out in Kansas working for the summer. I managed to survive the week without him with some help from friends and family. <div><br></div><div>On Monday my nieces were staying over because Julia's brother was getting married and they had gone to Oklahoma with Cody for the wedding. That was the hardest day because I had 2 extra kids and we couldn't go anywhere because I didn't have a car that could fit all of us. I think having that day first made the rest of the week easier. On Tuesday the boys had pediatrician appointments down in Provo (we are going to need to get a pediatrician closer to home and I'm bummed because I loved our doctor in Provo). Before the appointment we went and hung out with my friend Laurel and had lunch and played at a park with her and her daughter.</div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF0g65gIYOnbPaPPrQj2S8ps8uAgMH7QSIk82R_-PYT583pSC6eyRZkvVnejcVKLwl5y8JFl5_OaIQT0hM-xUEGkIxkayPzjZoSXIfznO3giR-GYNFMBjldSpCL-ziQn6on5mXwmpbAzjE/s640/blogger-image--1599077462.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF0g65gIYOnbPaPPrQj2S8ps8uAgMH7QSIk82R_-PYT583pSC6eyRZkvVnejcVKLwl5y8JFl5_OaIQT0hM-xUEGkIxkayPzjZoSXIfznO3giR-GYNFMBjldSpCL-ziQn6on5mXwmpbAzjE/s640/blogger-image--1599077462.jpg"></a>I had asked my mom to come over to the doctors office just in case I needed backup. The kids were pretty good, but it was nice to see her. On Wednesday we went over to Grandma Ware's house and played over there and picked peas. On Thursday we used Jennifer's tickets for Danny and I to see the Kroods in Draper with Melinda and her boys. After the movie Karen and I took the boys to Ikea to get a shelf for the boys toys. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRJu3w2vWGUDv5q6J_6rm3eQlXK6eUXEGlqntORy6smnEVFGLVceYAENLl58m7s2usr3EOobodWHOjti89h8DuSy7SEEoWuTi9DsSxCfS6kd7FPV08Vu-54LR43J9sLbDsyX3keR6ZarHT/s640/blogger-image--1949406728.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRJu3w2vWGUDv5q6J_6rm3eQlXK6eUXEGlqntORy6smnEVFGLVceYAENLl58m7s2usr3EOobodWHOjti89h8DuSy7SEEoWuTi9DsSxCfS6kd7FPV08Vu-54LR43J9sLbDsyX3keR6ZarHT/s640/blogger-image--1949406728.jpg"></a></div>While we were there we also got a bed with a headboard. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdAYQBJ5vsyZ-zcwWeS1TaDcysyGI8aT1ZTkRud2bJ0mJAss8l2ZIjRkRKOB4d22Tt2-7gNyA3qcE_rD2V6Z3g9OhyEm3Dk2nOFuy_9X9tClGnehYRHDvYsyS8JfVFZ3aXnCos7fBxNd6I/s640/blogger-image--812450291.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdAYQBJ5vsyZ-zcwWeS1TaDcysyGI8aT1ZTkRud2bJ0mJAss8l2ZIjRkRKOB4d22Tt2-7gNyA3qcE_rD2V6Z3g9OhyEm3Dk2nOFuy_9X9tClGnehYRHDvYsyS8JfVFZ3aXnCos7fBxNd6I/s640/blogger-image--812450291.jpg"></a></div>We have been holding off on upgrading from a metal frame to something nicer until we moved somewhere a little longer term and I think that buying a house counts. Karen and I put the furniture together while Kyle napped and Danny watched the Lego movie ( it is definitely his favorite right now). I would not have been able to put it together by myself, so I was super glad that I had help. I didn't tell Jon about the new stuff, so he had a surprise when he came home. That night when I was trying to get the kids calmed down for bed I was reading Go Dog Go with Kyle on my lap when Danny threw the vacuum's crevice tool at my face from across the room. It hit me right in the eye and hurt like crazy. I still have a pretty colorful black eye from it. On Friday afternoon we got together with all the Ware cousins and played at the playground at the school and then went and got an icecream cone. Saturday we just hung out at home until Jon's flight got in about 5 and then went down to visit my parents. We got a whole bunch of cherries from them which my boys have been eating pits and all. Hopefully they make it out ok. </div><div><br></div><div>It's hard to keep these boys out of things because they are good climbers and Danny will leave doors open. Sometimes I hear water running in the bathroom and I have to go pull Kyle off the counter. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFE3encA_ZeU5LFCgqMaGj6QzH7OWTt0ZLCMdmrpyIYFprdrmGOpvPFe7YwJNX2ZSKH5a-VzECtiArbl_Go5MONEizWBndzDiZ_4HEepoz-zCjt3MV7pNv9Z3CDr9tWxmSjgCOhkrDyjj5/s640/blogger-image-1600564598.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFE3encA_ZeU5LFCgqMaGj6QzH7OWTt0ZLCMdmrpyIYFprdrmGOpvPFe7YwJNX2ZSKH5a-VzECtiArbl_Go5MONEizWBndzDiZ_4HEepoz-zCjt3MV7pNv9Z3CDr9tWxmSjgCOhkrDyjj5/s640/blogger-image-1600564598.jpg"></a></div></div><div><br></div><div>Everyone survived last week and I think my kids were being extra good because we have already had more three year old problems this week than all of last. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I'm trying to think what else can I update about the last month. I had my birthday and it was a good birthday. He is very good at mimicking things he hears and see, because of this he thinks a hanger is called a gun and makes sound effects when he hold one. He likes to climb up on to the play set and announce his success with a dun-dun-dah. Jon says that Kyle needs to get some different cries because every time he cries he sounds like he has been mortally wounded and it's hard to tell if he got hurt or just wants the water bottle Danny took from him. </div><div><br></div><div>Danny is a three year old and I need to remind myself that this is just a phase and there are good times mixed in with the punching and tantrum. Danny's favorite thing to do is watch tv or play on mommy or daddy's phone. He would do this all the time if we let him. Last night I thought ,"wow Danny went to bed really great he didn't come downstairs his normal 5+ times." Jon had his phone upstairs charging and Danny had found it and was playing on it for I don't know how long until he had to go to the bathroom and I heard the music when he was in the hall. On the bright side, he is totally potty trained day and night and he hasn't had an accident in a long time. </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDgKnF_WVo-BSJq_gmDPDI0gLb7gv1fnv-h4G3TFMLto7B5wFTitsehsboGh8qbCo2MP-2AYNAYg0IocOvWRwio9d7xvFWD9ApPoUNdNEHcO9UJrC56gBlAWyNyhl-2ThyphenhyphenyEN3DCbr6y-c/s640/blogger-image--1376620926.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDgKnF_WVo-BSJq_gmDPDI0gLb7gv1fnv-h4G3TFMLto7B5wFTitsehsboGh8qbCo2MP-2AYNAYg0IocOvWRwio9d7xvFWD9ApPoUNdNEHcO9UJrC56gBlAWyNyhl-2ThyphenhyphenyEN3DCbr6y-c/s640/blogger-image--1376620926.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>Jon, in addition to holding down the fort with me for the summer, has started working for iCracked fixing iPhones and iPads and stuff. I was making dinner and Danny and Kyle were in the kitchen with me. Kyle was walking around with his bottle of milk and I heard him fall and then cry a little bit. I looked over and he was sitting on the floor with his mouth wide open in the deep breath before the scream face. I ran over to him and picked him up and called for Jon to come upstairs; I think I was wondering if he saw the fall because what I thought happened from the sound I heard was just a plop on to his behind and that definitely did not warrant this type of reaction. I knew something was wrong when the scream didn't come after a few seconds and then he started turning purple. I tipped him face down over my arm and whacked him on the back maybe twice (and honestly probably not as hard as I needed to if something was stuck in there). I tried to stick my finger in his mouth to see if there was anything in there and his jaw was shut tight and I had to force my finger in. At this point Kyle was very blue and purple and kind of curled up and limp. Jon called 911 and I laid him on the floor ready to do CPR. I tilted his head back and lifted his chin up and again swiped my finger in his mouth to see if there was anything I could feel in there (I think this was wrong I think I was just supposed to look). I put my face down close to him and he started breathing and opened his eyes. This all happened really fast and by the time Jon was giving our address to the 911 lady Kyle was breathing. We had her send the paramedics anyway because Kyle was acting really lethargic and docile after nearly dying and we wanted them to make sure he was ok and that he hadn't aspirated whatever he seemed to be choking on. They checked his capillary refill and listened to his lungs and said everything sounded good. It was around the time that the paramedics and police officer got to our house that I started crying, but up until that point I was running on adrenaline and surprisingly calm. I have cried off and on since then. <div><br></div><div>I feel truly blessed that Kyle is ok. A little while after the paramedics left he perked up and wanted to finish his dinner. He has been his usual happy self ever since. When Jon came up the stairs and saw me holding our blue baby face down he asked what he should do I immediatly told him to say a prayer, he quickly prayed that Kyle would be ok, and then I had him call 911. I know that Danny was watched over during this little crisis because he uncharacteristically stayed out of the way until Kyle had started breathing again and then wanted me to hold him. I am so grateful that we are all alive and safe because I can't imagine anything more difficult than losing a member of our little family. This was the first time I have ever used my CPR and first aid training for something major and it made me want to take another class to refresh my memory, but I was glad that I knew what I did and had the clarity of mind to use it. </div>Andreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07629126171023890783noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855834195566093002.post-79745609673196640672014-01-10T08:01:00.001-08:002014-01-10T13:08:00.343-08:00Kyle updateTo continue my random updating on what my kids are doing here is Kyle's list. <div><br></div><div>Kyle: 1. Kyle has been learning all sorts of new things. This week he has decided that he is going to use walking as his main way to get around. He has been able to stand up and walk by himself for a few week but up until recently he would stand up and walk a few steps when it suited him. 2. Going along with the walking thing Kyle is also a climber. He likes to climb up on the back of the couch and play with the remote. His other favorite thing to climb is the stairs especially now that he knows how to go up and down them. 3. Kyle is anti-cup right now. If I give him his milk in a bottle he will chug it down no complaint; not so for a cup. He knows how to drink out of a sippy cup and a straw, but prefers to throw them on the floor. 4. Kyle says a few things his vocabulary currently includes: mama, dada, dan-da (Danny), nana (banana), he also says gama and baba (grandma and grandpa). Besides babbling that I don't always understand lots of giggles, spit, raspberries, tongue clicks, and shrieks of delight also come from Kyle's mouth. He also knows the sign for milk. 5. Kyle likes to play in small spaces. Between the wall and curio cabinet or under tables and chairs are some of his favorites. 6. Kyle likes to eat paper. He isn't picky any kind of paper will do but the one I am usually scooping out of his mouth is toilet paper. 7. Kyle loves his blankie. His blankie is a soft fleece one with blue, brown, green, and white stripes. When we put him to bed he likes to bury his face in it then chew and drool on it. </div><div><br></div><div>I don't think I forgot anything major, but if I think of anything else I'll add it to the end of the list. </div><div><br></div>Here is Kyle in one of the boys favorite Christmas presents... A cardboard box. <br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMEENg59f_WFCo2DhlblegE_zcFP06MUvNNNstKib9sZPev_x6nZi3lzaQB4v4lU8KJwTBHbeG2_aI5VcQiKbE9fnDLPH_PW3ll1msYkqJKzzm2YBudJQfkOjIIsr_qTdzcWf793WFRaYv/s640/blogger-image-2086642820.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMEENg59f_WFCo2DhlblegE_zcFP06MUvNNNstKib9sZPev_x6nZi3lzaQB4v4lU8KJwTBHbeG2_aI5VcQiKbE9fnDLPH_PW3ll1msYkqJKzzm2YBudJQfkOjIIsr_qTdzcWf793WFRaYv/s640/blogger-image-2086642820.jpg"></a></div>Andreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07629126171023890783noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855834195566093002.post-84451133266298116692014-01-09T23:24:00.001-08:002014-01-10T11:17:33.623-08:00Random updateI am not falling asleep for some reason and I keep thinking about what the boys are up to these days, so I decided to make a list. <div><br></div><div>Danny: 1. Danny is obsessed with punching right now. I don't know why the fascination, but everything is punching. The weird thing is he isn't punching things because he is mad or frustrated all the time; although he will swing at me when he is. The attempts at stopping all punching were not really working, so I decided to let him punch the bean bag in the basement. We probably just need to figure out other ways for that boy to burn off his excess energy while we are cooped up inside for the winter maybe that will reduce the punching. 2. Danny is pretty much potty trained (hallelujah!). Oh my gosh why is potty training so frustrating as a parent? I was really frustrated at first because we would have such good progress and then for a while he refused to use the toilet or he would just not care and pee in his pants. We scrapped the whole underwear thing for a while and went back to diapers because it is hard to keep your cool sometimes when you are cleaning up urine all the time. I think he realized during those few days that he missed his cool big boy underwear and the traditional pants free run around the house after he used the potty (yeah, we are still working on getting pants and underwear back on before leaving the bathroom). 3. I think Danny inherited my impeccable sense of smell. Danny will often say things like "what that smell is?" Or "Smells like..." Whatever. It is pretty hilarious to hear him start sniffing the air to try to figure out what it is he smells. 4. One of Danny's favorite things to do when uncle Mikey is home is to go up to his room in the morning, sit on his bed, play on his iPad, and eat anything edible he can find on his nightstand (usually gum or ricola). Uncle Mikey has some pretty fun games and books on his iPad and Danny would play on it all the time if he could. 5. Danny is a good helper most of the time. He puts away his laundry in his drawers and picks up toys<font face="Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif">. 6. Danny loves music. He likes to sing and have us sing to him. His all time favorite song is probably the cougar fight song. He also likes primary songs, songs that mom and dad make up, and right now he loves Roar by Katy Perry. </font></div><div><font face="Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif"><br></font></div><div><font face="Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif">Alright I think I might be tired enough to go to sleep now. I'll try to write what Kyle is up to tomorrow, but I make no guarantees. </font></div><div><br></div>This is Danny doing his "closing eyes smile" he named it himself. <br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5X_5YXGMVxwb8RxqrUX60eQEXXRbxFn6n1yta1juqmiUX-PiGkmCikiKfZx7WV31hFOKTW3rBvyo6X7tqN0HgBqQeCrxaU-1xFoWRoZrz5si0sS3qDjo-cIjpF8S4qGAsPKEl4keI1wxy/s640/blogger-image-750527983.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5X_5YXGMVxwb8RxqrUX60eQEXXRbxFn6n1yta1juqmiUX-PiGkmCikiKfZx7WV31hFOKTW3rBvyo6X7tqN0HgBqQeCrxaU-1xFoWRoZrz5si0sS3qDjo-cIjpF8S4qGAsPKEl4keI1wxy/s640/blogger-image-750527983.jpg"></a></div>Andreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07629126171023890783noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855834195566093002.post-40539758869281025142014-01-09T20:54:00.000-08:002014-01-09T20:56:05.071-08:00Photo Book I made a photo book of our Holidays and it gave me a link to put it on a blog. I thought that was pretty perfect since I haven't put anything on our blog in months. Enjoy!<br />

I think it is time to retire that bouncy seat. Luckily he hasn't mastered the crawling skill so he isn't fast but he can scoot around good enough to get to something he wants to chew on.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Today was Cody Westover's baby blessing. It was nice to see the Westover's and be there for that but Danny was being super tantrummy so that was stressful. I think that it didn't help that I am sore and tired from running the Bryce Canyon Half Marathon yesterday. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">The half marathon went well. Especially considering I didn't really do anything in the way of training. I think it was really motivating to have Jennifer to run with most if the way. I lost her around mile 7 when i took a potty stop. I finished with a time of about 2 hours 23 minutes from my timing, but we'll see what the official results are. I had a lot of fun hanging out with Jon's sisters Jennifer and Melinda and Jennifer's friend Leann at the race. I don't know if I want to do another race without training again. Hopefully next time I decide to do one of those I have more discipline and actually prepare. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKUy_xrdfKJJ4dcdIOzKuRPt82OE7m_zvZy3BALeq_xWO276CDyCr9NUIA84cEof4sMOiTGgaYBWC7jdcHU93m-bWICkaHbiI9k9FR7Ki3hPyfhQdPjMkkZ2jcrPVDgbEIlde1iTx8ujcz/s640/blogger-image-1002951190.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKUy_xrdfKJJ4dcdIOzKuRPt82OE7m_zvZy3BALeq_xWO276CDyCr9NUIA84cEof4sMOiTGgaYBWC7jdcHU93m-bWICkaHbiI9k9FR7Ki3hPyfhQdPjMkkZ2jcrPVDgbEIlde1iTx8ujcz/s640/blogger-image-1002951190.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Now I am going to go to sleep because it has been a long weekend. </div>Andreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07629126171023890783noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855834195566093002.post-53270725676718050652013-07-01T11:22:00.001-07:002013-07-01T11:22:50.217-07:00Wedding etc.My baby sister got married last weekend on Friday. It was a good, busy, and hot day. She was married in the Mount Timpanogos temple and it was really lovely and I felt the spirit very strong during the sealing. I love that we can be with our families forever. We took some pictures in the sweltering heat outside the temple and my cousin was getting a lot of unsolicited advice from one of the groom's uncles. Needless to say she was not super happy with her self appointed assistant. After the temple we went to a luncheon at Blue Lemon and it was delicious. My mom had each of us siblings say something at the luncheon and I resisted the temptation to talk about flatulence, pants wetting, or stinky feet. We are glad that Carrie got married to such an awesome guy and are excited to have Erik as a part of our family. <div><br></div><div>When the luncheon was over we went and picked up our boys from Jon's mom in Draper and chatted with her for a while. She has been awesome to help watch them while we have been doing wedding stuff. After that we came home and all took a nap for a bit. Jon got up because he was assigned to help load cars and no one was here so he texted my mom to ask how to help. Julia and him started cutting grapes and then I helped load coolers when my parents got home. We got the kids up and ready and headed to Alpine to the Fjeldsted home for the reception. Ashley took some family pictures of us and then we were about ready for guests. Most of the time we were there Danny jumped on the trampoline with his cousins and we chatted with family and friends. It was a record breaking hot day so we were glad for shade and ice cream but it was still pretty warm. </div><div><br></div><div>We left with our boys a little before the reception was scheduled to end at 8. Kyle and Danny had been surprisingly good at the reception, but Kyle was exhausted and cried the entire way home and for quite a while after we got home because he was so overly tired. I need to remember that if he does not nap well and stays up later than normal I'm not going to have a fun time trying to calm him down so he can fall asleep. When my patents got home we helped unload the car and put things away. We had quite a bit of ice cream left over and lots of berries but hardly any croissants and no chicken salad. I think my mom did a pretty good job at estimating how much food to do. We stayed up late that night taking about everything that had gone on that day and finally went to bed. </div><div><br></div><div>It was nice to have a Saturday after the wedding to just relax and have fun. Jon, Michael, the boys, and I all went to Seven Peaks around 11. The little boys and I left after about two hours and Jon and Mikey stayed until about 5. Danny had a lot of fun and was jumping off the edge of the pool in to the water and was even putting his head under the water all by himself. I think he will soon be brave enough to go on the little slides. </div><div><br></div><div>That night we had dinner at the blue pablano where Ryan is a cook and had some tacos. They were good, but I got taco juices spilled all over in my lap and that was not so great. </div><div><br></div><div>On Sunday we all went to church and then most of the family came over for dinner. Jon and I had a family dinner up at his parents home but we still got to visit with my grandparents and other out of town relatives before and after that dinner. </div><div><br></div><div>It was a busy weekend, but it was fun to see lots of family and Danny as always enjoyed hanging out with his cousins. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHnQkUIIs8eFEDG2RpDP8fwwc6okdkhIdCQozz_TDpiJm1LDWIRAC5Lp8CeTws7HBP3zRu3Kfz5f4WUacrPc8yK25dJwj6pJMaUsUZEvTsFythgnitc7vcf2mFAs-ko-AAvp-eYa9F5aN3/s640/blogger-image--565500303.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHnQkUIIs8eFEDG2RpDP8fwwc6okdkhIdCQozz_TDpiJm1LDWIRAC5Lp8CeTws7HBP3zRu3Kfz5f4WUacrPc8yK25dJwj6pJMaUsUZEvTsFythgnitc7vcf2mFAs-ko-AAvp-eYa9F5aN3/s640/blogger-image--565500303.jpg"></a></div></div>Andreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07629126171023890783noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855834195566093002.post-84752611669056817772013-06-18T10:03:00.001-07:002013-06-18T10:03:49.383-07:00Bread and Birth/Fathers Day<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7icN1Yru9hZr_b14UmGKZ_brVibHDhyphenhyphen6ygUdffyS6ecJAaRU1olybd4b5VwBF4ztuOlAPOWYeQV3mSXsNtpFN04fFT-B3u8Nhe2Cn-jxXwioEadM1BU8eYk6Pm9Inl27sJAV975LMucfp/s640/blogger-image--393132932.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7icN1Yru9hZr_b14UmGKZ_brVibHDhyphenhyphen6ygUdffyS6ecJAaRU1olybd4b5VwBF4ztuOlAPOWYeQV3mSXsNtpFN04fFT-B3u8Nhe2Cn-jxXwioEadM1BU8eYk6Pm9Inl27sJAV975LMucfp/s640/blogger-image--393132932.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">My Birthday landed on Father's Day this year and so Jon and I had a fun weekend of celebrating. One of the presents Jon got me was a bread dome. It is so I can make delicious crusty bread. I made my first loaf last night and it was beautiful and tasted good. I can't wait to become a bread master. Thanks babe. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I figure I should put an update of what is going on with the boys so in the future I know. Kyle is a drool machine; he is super slobbery and loves to put anything he can in his mouth. I mentioned before that he likes to be on his tummy and will probably start crawling soon. He can pivot and turn in any direction he wants and has now started to get up on his knees occasionally. We have tried giving Kyle rice cereal twice now and he has gone after the spoon but I don't think swallowed any of the food. He is super good natured and social and will smile at anyone who will look at him. Danny is very much a two year old. He wants to do everything himself and his way. He is a pretty good talker and likes to narrate what he is doing. Some of his favorite things to do are go outside, make stacks and knock them over, look at pictures and videos of himself, play with Kyle, hold on to the pull-up bar (aka the pipe), go to nursery, count things (he usually gets stuck in a loop because 7 comes after 6 and 10), and hear stories about Danny. He is a handful but usually is pretty good and doesn't have too many tantrums. Danny also likes to say "to infinity and beyond" and then jump off things. He will also reenact times that he or someone else has fallen over I think he is going to be a fan of slapstick comedy. Some of his common phrases are "that be silly." "I eat em. Nom." "I'm gonna get you." "Kyle drool on me" "It's ok Kyle" "time out all done" "Hi Kyle. How are you? Good?" "Kyle fallosleep" When playing with the phone "Hi. I have a question for you. Bye." "I go outside no shoes" "I be crazy boy" "it's the chicken man!" "That parsley growing so big" There are more things that he says all the time but those are the ones I can think of right now. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">The boys are fun and they keep us busy. It has been fun to have Jon home to hang out with. Danny especially likes having him here and asks "where daddy go" whenever he is gone. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div>Andreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07629126171023890783noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855834195566093002.post-9867344220175981062013-06-13T11:09:00.001-07:002013-06-13T11:09:08.741-07:00Things are growing<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVpyp8NTMj1yGQKM6fGOo_KztVtCQgUSaY-GbYh1o1hBB1WL6hfVuLWRcOuRYKCWqCDXlDwQE3DUqs9k0W2kbPrNQVmICihyphenhyphen4bHGCfegiQRrklC0KA3V2MetgIJ1nDdPiqVHuiCctiBwMX/s640/blogger-image-1614509476.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVpyp8NTMj1yGQKM6fGOo_KztVtCQgUSaY-GbYh1o1hBB1WL6hfVuLWRcOuRYKCWqCDXlDwQE3DUqs9k0W2kbPrNQVmICihyphenhyphen4bHGCfegiQRrklC0KA3V2MetgIJ1nDdPiqVHuiCctiBwMX/s640/blogger-image-1614509476.jpg"></a></div>The boys and the garden are all growing good. Danny is my little gardener and loves coming outside to look at the plants. He has finally grasped the concept that not every plant will grow strawberries. For the longest time he would point at each plant and say "this grow little strawbies on it." Kyle has mastered the art of rolling from his back on to his tummy. He spends most of his time on his tummy now maybe because he forgot how to roll back the other way, but he is usually happy so it won't be long before he is a very mobile little guy. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXn5ORTp-sQq2kFuvfvAeIXUl3Yp_uLbvHNHfNcqvTnhuhyphenhyphenv-p1BJufry0w2Yf8udIhlcAxa6769ngAOyiYRALnl-rpJnH9CDg-Lq5IJbrTz1Ni4E41jiPkAupIak9STMMZHLAsXrjlm8f/s640/blogger-image-476643669.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXn5ORTp-sQq2kFuvfvAeIXUl3Yp_uLbvHNHfNcqvTnhuhyphenhyphenv-p1BJufry0w2Yf8udIhlcAxa6769ngAOyiYRALnl-rpJnH9CDg-Lq5IJbrTz1Ni4E41jiPkAupIak9STMMZHLAsXrjlm8f/s640/blogger-image-476643669.jpg"></a></div><div><br></div><div>So far this summer we have gone swimming a few times and Danny likes the water but is a little nervous and kind of clingy when we first get there. Kyle is ok with swimming and he doesn't even get too upset when he gets splashed in the face by his brother. Hopefully by the end of the summer Danny will be brave enough to go down the slides. </div><div><br></div><div>Carrie is getting married in a few weeks and we have been pretty busy with that. I never know what people mean by that. I think a better question would be "How are you sleeping?" Or "How is your baby sleeping?" Or even "Are you getting enough sleep?" Maybe I just didn't like that people take this sleeping through the night thing as a milestone like rolling over that they can brag their child is doing at such an early age. With Danny I don't think I wanted to try to sleep train him to get rid of his night time feeding. Getting up to feed him was a time I got to cuddle and be just me and him because I was working full time. I'm sure if I had been too exhausted to function I would have done things differently, but it worked for me and I didn't mind being up in the middle of the night for a little bit with him. <br />
<br />
That being said last night was Kyle's first time sleeping through the night by my definition which is: he went to bed at or before the time I did and when he woke up to eat I didn't go back to bed for more sleep after feeding him. So he slept probably for 8 or 9 hours. It was great. Kyle has been a very good natured and mellow kid and he takes quite a bit of rough playing from Danny who doesn't seem to understand the concept of being soft or careful with him. <br />
<br />
Jon finished up his student teaching last Friday and he is now applying for jobs. There is a pretty promising looking job up at East High School in SLC, so we'll see if anything comes of that. He has graduation in about a week and a half and I think he is excited to be finishing college. <br />
<br />
Danny just went downstairs, so I better make sure he isn't getting in to anything he shouldn't. I'm trying my first blog post on my phone. I woke up this morning and found out that my sister-in-law Julia had gone to the hospital because her water broke. They were down visiting for a baby shower and I guess the little one decided he wanted to be born. Jon and I are now watching Lexi, Lily, and Kyle. My mom went up to the Rootstech geneology conference for a little bit and my dad needed to go to the cabin for a bit, so he took Danny with him. This has given Lexi and Lily a chance to bond with Kyle. I think they are going to like having a new brother. </div>

I think Danny is going to be like his mom and enjoy gardening. I have already planted carrots, onions, and peas. Yesterday we watered the garden one watering can at a time and Danny thought it was great. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So I am very very excited about the warmer weather we have been having recently. It makes me want to garden and be outside. I have been meaning to give Kyle a bath for days, but I'm not willing to try that while Danny is awake so it hasn't happened yet. Danny running free while my hands are full with Kyle in the bath is a recipe for disaster. I guess that is just the way it goes when you are the second child. With Danny we are working on trying to be more polite because right now he has a habit of just demanding what he wants and he will even sometimes add a "right now" on to his demands. Doesn't really make me want to let him look at pictures of himself on my phone when he says "look at pictures right now!" </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I am going to a Mary Kay conference tonight and tomorrow and staying over in Salt Lake, so we'll see how we all survive 24 hours apart. I hope the boys are good for dad and I can find a place to pump. </div>
