Every year when it starts to warm up a little I start thinking about planting a garden. I absolutely love garden vegetables and I like being outside, so the garden thing just makes sense. In our current place the dirt is not very great and the space we tried the garden last year ended up not getting much sun, so this year I want to try a square-foot-style garden. Yesterday we went up to Draper and Jonathan built us two garden boxes at his parents. One is 2' x 4' and the other is 2' x 3'. We are probably going to buy some dirt and put the boxes right in the middle of the backyard so they will have plenty of sun and good soil to grow in. My current plan is to have the shorter plants like spinach, lettuce, carrots, and onions in one box and then have the larger plants like tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and a melon in the other. I worry a little about our plants getting too big for their boxes, but I'll deal with that if it becomes an issue later in the summer. I am very excited to get our garden boxes ready, so I can plant some peas (it is still too early for almost everything else). I'll take pictures and write more once there is something to take a picture of.
Also in baby news- Danny rolled over once! It was crazy. We were watching a BYU basketball game at my parents and my mom set him down on the floor on his tummy to play. He somehow got his one arm under his body and after a lot of squirming he slowly turned from his tummy to his back. It hasn't happened since, but it was kind of fun watching him wiggle and flail his way onto his back.

More than a month old
Last week I got a call on Saturday from the credit union asking if I was ordering laptops to be shipped to Maryland. Jon's debit card information had been compromised, so I canceled the card. We were able to get him a new card and we disputed the charges that went through before the card was canceled. That was kind of annoying, but I was really glad that the credit union called because they recognized something was fishy before too many charges were made. I just checked and the money for the fraudulent charges is already back in our account, so that makes me happy. It makes me wonder how or from what his card info was obtained. Oh well, at least it wasn't worse than it was.
Earlier this week we went over to my cousin Ashley's so Danny and I could hang out with her and Dean. It was nice to have a change of scenery and to be able to talk to Ashley. While we were there Danny decided he wanted to become a spit up fountain. He normally doesn't spit up much but he spit up on Ashley's couch and on the blanket they were laying on on the floor. Luckily Ashley is a mom too and is used to spit up in her house (you can see the paper towels that she brought me when he spit up on the couch in the background of a few pictures). We let the boys play on their tummies on the floor and while they were playing I took some pictures. Ash gave me some good tips for learning to use my camera better which was good because what is the point of having a nice camera if you don't know how to use it well.
I think Daniel is a very strong little guy and he is getting pretty good at lifting up his head. I didn't get a picture of it, but he really likes to lift his legs in the air while he is on his tummy too. The problem with lifting his legs up like that is he will usually pee and then the wetness ends up running out of the top of his diaper and soaking his clothes.
Dean is really good at holding himself up while on his stomach, but Ashley said he usually gets really upset when she puts him on his tummy. I don't know if he was just being good because there was company, but he stayed looking up for quite a while before getting upset...
and plopping his face into the floor. It was pretty cute and funny to see him do that.
Besides puking all over Ashley's house Danny was pretty good while we were over there and it was fun to visit our cousins.
I think that Danny slept for like 6 hours solid last night. I'm not really sure because I fell asleep while holding him in our bed and then I think I dreamed that I fed him around 2. I usually dream that I'm feeding him when he starts to wake up in the middle of the night, but I know it is a dream because I will wake up and he will still be in his bassinet. This time when I woke up I was holding him and he was asleep, so I put him in his bassinet and figured he would probably wake up to eat for real soon. He didn't wake up until almost 6 a.m. So I'm pretty sure he slept for 6 hours and I just dreamed he woke up and ate. I don't know if that was just a fluke because he was very awake during the day yesterday or if he is going to start sleeping for big chunks of time at night or what. He was pretty fussy and cranky before we went to bed and it was probably because he was so tired.
This is typically how he sleeps. He hasn't ever liked having his arms pinned down when we swaddled him and even though his hands will get kind of cold he still prefers to have them free.
Jon calls the bassinet Danny's cage. This is the view I have of him from my bed. We took out the bumper pads on the side so I could see him and see if he is waking up or not (and the pediatrician recommended taking them out when he starts rolling because they can be a suffocation hazard).
I think I might go to the store today and get a few things. Here is my list:

- burp cloths (I have three, but one of then is not very absorbent and it would be nice to have more)
- nursing bra pads (I have almost used the whole box that my mom gave me because sometimes I am a leaky milk machine)
- a mirror (I want one of those baby mirror things so I can make sure my boy is still alive when we are in the car)
