The Joys of Motherhood and Gardening

So last night Danny and I were sitting on the couch and he pooped on both of us and the couch. So I changed him and then changed my clothes while Jon cleaned up the couch. About an hour later he spit up on the both of us and I had to change again. It was one of those nights where I felt very much like the mother of a little baby. Danny also had a doctor appointment yesterday and we found out that he now weighs 11 lbs 7 oz and is 23.5 inches long. He is getting so huge! Everything seems to be going well with him and he is healthy, so that is really excellent.

This past Saturday morning I planted the garden while Jon was shooting guns with his elders quorum. Luckily it didn't rain and Danny slept in his carseat outside with me pretty much the whole time I was working on it. I planted carrots, onions, peas, spinach, lettuce, and cilantro in the larger box. Then when Jon got home he helped me with the wall of waters and we planted the tomatoes in the smaller box. Hopefully the tomatoes don't die or anything because it has been really cold these past few days. I am very happy that I finally got the garden planted and can't wait until later in the summer and fall when I have delicious vegetables to eat. I still want to get a cucumber and plant that, but I think I will wait until it gets a little warmer.

Danny also had his first easter and that means an easter party at Grandma Ware's. Jonathan went up on Thursday with him to Draper and then I came up after work. After I got there we had dinner and dyed eggs and hung out with the family. It was a lot of fun.

Yippee!

Danny slept through the night last night! It was pretty fabulous. I still woke up a few times, but went back to sleep quickly when I realized he was still sleeping. I am hoping that he will make a habit of this night time sleeping thing.

I thought I would include some of the videos Jon has taken of Danny in this post because they are very cute. It is nice because Jon will take a video of Danny and then email it to me so I can watch it at work during my lunch break.

We find out soon if Jon won the iPad. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Working Momma

I have almost made it through my third full week of work since coming back from my maternity leave. It is kinda crappy to have to work, but it is comforting to know that I won't have to work full time forever and people I know and trust are taking care of my baby. Jon is on campus trying to get as many last minute views on his IIC video as possible to try to win the people's choice prize. A new ipad. I really hope he wins because he has been pretty obsessed and will be really disappointed if he spent all this time and effort without any physical reward to show for it. Danny is sleeping in his bassinet right now and making cute little sleeping baby noises. Here are some pictures I took of Danny over conference weekend. He is growing a ton and I'm pretty sure he weighs more than 10 lbs now.

Ok this one isn't from conference, but this was pretty funny. I was doing laundry and Danny was fussing so I was holding him while I was loading the washing machine. I couldn't hold him and put in the soap at the same time so I grabbed a towel from the dryer and put it in the empty laundry basket. I set Danny down on the towel and put the soap in the washing machine and when I turned to pick him back up he was asleep. I guess he was cranky because he was tired and the warm towel from the dryer made a great bed. Who needs a crib when you have a laundry basket?

Danny has started smiling and making little giggle-like cooing noises that are adorable. This was him smiling at my mom.

What a cutie.

Lexi likes her baby cousin. You can see Jon taking his post conference nap in this one too.

Danny has been doing this little pouty lip thing when he gets upset or scared recently, and this was my attempt at taking a photo of it. This was just the other night and the lighting in my house isn't too great and he was flailing in displeasure, so its a bit blurry. I'll see if I can get a better picture of the pouty lip another time.

I'm really grateful for my cute little son and for my wonderful husband and family who have been taking such good care of him when I'm not at home. I'm also glad that I have a job and co-workers that will cover for me when I am "doing my thing" as Dr. Preston called it once when I was pumping. I'm glad that we were able to watch conference and hear the inspired words of our church leaders. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true and I love it.

Yeah, this is probably how it went down

Noah, iPhone

Everybody knows that dinosaurs were around when Noah built his ark. Now we know why they didn't get a seat on board. They had paied 2 million euros, of course.
