Christmas

It is over a month after Christmas, but I have not posted any pictures of stuff on the blog. So here goes.

We chopped our own Christmas tree again this year and it was a much better experience than last year.
We bundled Danny and the rest of us up and headed to the forest area that we could cut our tree from
Jennifer, Phil, Grant, and Lincoln came with us to chop a tree and when their van couldn't make it up the snowy forest road anymore they hopped in the truck with us.
Unlike last year we actually made it to the forest that we were allowed to chop our tree in. We passed the place where we chopped our tree last year probably 4 miles from the forest. Oops.
I stayed in the truck with Danny while the others searched for a tree. They found two nice tall ones and started bringing the first one back.
I went out to help haul in the trees;
While Jennifer watched Danny in the car.
We loaded the trees in the truck and it was a tight fit to get the trees and passengers all in.
We made it back down to the van and tied the trees to our cars. I thought the truck looked like a Christmas unicorn.
So this tree may look a little different than the massive tree we chopped- because it is. We put the massive 18 foot tree at my parents cabin and my dad got us a small tree for our place.
On Christmas morning after opening a few presents at our house we went over to my parents house to open some more.
Danny did pretty good for his first Christmas.
We all had a good Christmas and had a fun time with our family.
Danny started walking around Christmas and has been getting better and better at keeping his balance. One of my friends from the Young Women presidency gave us a balloon and Danny had a blast playing with it.
Most of the pictures I took ended up pretty blurry because Danny was either running or shaking the balloon wildly.

I think this will be all I post for now. Danny's Birthday is tomorrow and we had a little party at my parents  yesterday, so I'll probably blog and post some more pictures soon.

Silly Baby

Danny would not eat the green beans I tried giving him at first, but he liked the sweet potatoes.

He liked licking them off his hands and then rubbing them on his head.

There is only one thing that can be done with a silly sweet potato covered baby...

In to the tub!

He liked splashing and playing with the water while getting cleaned off.

The floor was pretty soaked by the time he was done splashing.

All clean! You can see some of his teeth here; He has two on bottom and three on top with another one on top and one on bottom that are almost breaking through.

Happy baby. Clean baby. Happy mommy.

Its been a while since I wrote on my blog. Things are going good. Life is still very busy with family, work , and young women's taking up pretty much all my time. We are very blessed and I am grateful for that. Danny is still a little sweetie and has been pulling himself up and walking along the furniture for about a month, so it is only a matter of time before he actually starts walking. I guess when he starts walking that begins a whole new phase of life- the toddler phase. I have been enjoying the baby phase a lot and being a mom to our precious baby has been a wonderful experience. I kind of don't want him to grow up, but I do at the same time. Life is crazy. Life is good.

Life on Fast Forward

I don't know if I mentioned that I got a new calling in my ward a little over a month ago... Well I did. I am the Young Women President. It has been really fun. I was nervous at first that I would not be able to handle it, but it has been really great and I love the girls in our ward. I even went to girls camp for a few days shortly after I was put in as president. I'm still working at the doctors office and am very busy right now because our front desk receptionist is in Europe for the month and I am covering for her and trying to keep up on my stuff too. It is busy but it makes the work day go by quickly.

Jon has started classes again for this sememster and he is really liking them. He is taking a lot of education classes and it is confirming to him that he wants to be a teacher. We also got the scooter up and working again and he has taken it to class a few times. Because of his schedule he is still able to watch Danny a few days a week and I think he likes hanging out with our sweet little boy.

Danny is now 7 months old and is all over the place. He has his first tooth and another coming in on the bottom. He is a really fast crawler and loves standing up and climbing on everything. He also loves trying to find plastic bags and trying to chew on computer cables, so we have to keep a close eye on him.

We have used our Seven Peaks passes quite a bit this summer. Danny has really enjoyed playing in the water and he will probably like it even more next summer when he is a little older.

Life is good, but busy. We want to get our carpets cleaned because they are super nasty. The garden is pretty much done; my tomatoes never got very big but we got quite a few of them and they are very tasty.  I also want to try to transplant some of my garden plants (my pepper and cucumber) that didn't grow very well into pots and bring them inside for the winter, so we'll see if they can survive the winter inside.

Over the Labor day weekend we had a little Westover reunion with my parents and siblings at my parents cabin in Timberlakes. It was really fun we played a lot of games, I ate the best steak I have ever eaten, and on Monday we rented 2 wave runners at Deer Creek and spent a few hours zipping around the resevoir on those.

This weekend we are going to be hanging out with the Ware side of the family, so that will be fun.

Life is good. It is going quickly, but that is just the way it goes sometimes.
